14 Jul Session Share: Maternity Photographs on a Farm
The relationships I build over the years with my clients are priceless. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to watch families grow and am so thrilled when I get the call that the baby I photographed as a newborn just two or three short years ago is going to be a big brother or sister.
When I met this particular client for the first time I instantly knew we would be friends for life. We had an instant connection and she has become one of my dearest friends. When she found out she was pregnant with her second child, this time a little girl it was only fitting that we would capture this time in their lives again. This time we added their little boy, the dogs and even the cows. We shot the session on their property that has been in their family for over a hundred years and even used the truck she learned to drive in.
Inspiration: I would have to say that my clients and their relationship with each other are my real inspiration. I try to show up to a session without any expectations and let the family guide me.
Biggest challenge: Can I say a runner? lol! Toddlers can be tough when they first learn to travel on their own because all they want to do is move on to the next thing. I have my tricks though, like cornering them or breaking out the bubbles. I have yet to meet a toddler who doesn’t love bubbles!!
What clients said: The family loved this session and was really happy we were able to incorporate so many personal elements into the session. Photographing their son in his environment was key to him being so comfortable and at ease. He was feeling the changes ahead but was such a good boy for us!
