13 Aug Session Share – Sunset Cowgirls…
Baltimore County, MD
Inspiration: I would have to say the girls themselves – they are at such an innocent, beautiful age, and you have to love how they rock such wavy, gorgeous hair! Luckily, we had lots of time to discuss and plan the session – I think it took her three months to find the right boots and hats! As for the location, when we saw these purple flowers on top of a hill in a field near her house, we just had to go for it – we couldn’t find the owners to ask for permission, which made us a little nervous, but toward the end of the session they drove by and waved and we figured we wouldn’t be spending the night in jail!
Favorite Element: The light – nothing beats sunset…
Biggest Challenge: Tired girls – they had spent the day at the pool so it took lots of energy to stay upbeat and energetic. Lucky thing I am well-versed in kid culture – it helped me to maintain their attention that I could discuss things that interested them.
What Clients said?: My client was very happy – I think she gave me a big hug!
Photographer’s final words: It was really worth the time and energy to plan locations, outfits, and props for this shoot in coordination with my client far in advance. I try to continue to do this with other clients to capture some truly unique, special images that tell a story and give insight into a child’s personality.
Also, thanks so much to NAPCP for providing this great forum for parents and photographers alike!
