01 Oct Happy Fridays: Crafty Decor for Fall!
Fall is here! It’s time to bust out those Pumpkin Spice candles, a few pine cone centerpieces, and maybe throw in a wreath or two! Fall would simply not be fall without some of these essential cool weather additions to your home. Who doesn’t love doing a little redecorating this time of year? Well to give you some inspiration this post is all about fabulous crafty fall decor, from the one and only Martha Stewart. Below are some great new ideas to add a little extra to some old favorites!
My favorite craft that I would like to share is the Cornhusk Votives (pictured above on the right). Such a cute, simple way to jazz up any traditional candle holder that can also give a room a warmer, cozier feel.
What you will need:
Cutting mat
Ruler
Utility knife
Dried cornhusks
Double-sided tape
Votive holders
Ribbon
Scissors
Instructions:
On a cutting mat, use a ruler and utility knife to cut the widest part of the dried cornhusks (available at crafts stores) to the height of your votive holders. Apply double-sided tape around a votive holder, about 1/4 inch from the bottom. Affix 2 or 3 cornhusks, overlapping the edges, to the holder. Finish by tying with a ribbon.
So simple and easy! It can even be a fun project for the whole family. Hope everyone enjoyed this week’s Happy Friday Post! To learn more about this project and other fall crafts please visit the Martha Stewart website.
