Join Us for this Inspiring Image Competition

“So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.”

― Bahá’u’lláh

Unity is a worldwide digital/online image competition that celebrates, inspires, and unifies us as artists and humanitarians. It serves as NAPCP’s FIRST ever public voting competition.

Since its founding, the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) has promoted and supported the artistry and integrity of professional child photographers. NAPCP has continued to grow and bring together a community of passionate artists committed to advancing their skills, their artistry, and their businesses.

The purpose of this competition is to celebrate photography, inspire creativity, and unite the NAPCP community and other professional photographers around the world. NAPCP’s Unity Image Competition provides a platform to share powerful stories of unity and allows us as artists the freedom to express and share our work. Artists from around the globe will submit their work to this exclusive competition. Only the Top 100 images advance on to the final online gallery with public voting. Winners and merits will be announced following the public voting portion of the competition – will your images make the cut?

NAPCP’s Unity Competition is a unique and extraordinary photo competition will bring together professional photographers from around the world. Placing Winners and Images of Merit will have special features in Inspired magazine and will be featured in an online gallery on NAPCP.com. Additionally, this competition rewards talent with medallions, priority listing in our directory (for members),  NAPCP Photographer of the Year points (for members), press, and professional recognition.

Top 100 finalists will receive a feature in Inspired magazine, a Top 100 Artist badge for business use, blog features on the NAPCP website, and credited features on NAPCP social media and in marketing collateral.

All entrants may submit an unlimited amount of entries, provided that each entry is different than the other (see guidelines below). The NAPCP Unity Image Competition is open to both NAPCP Members and non-members.
  2. Entries must be the complete and original photographic work of the entrant. This includes overall concept, posing, capture, exposure, and all post processing. Third party presets and actions may be used by entrant to enhance the quality of an image (color, contrast, skin tone, etc) as long as they do not add elements that did not exist in the original image. Purchased texture screens are allowed as long as entering the image in the competition doesn’t violate the copyright of the artist who created the texture. Images that are a result of a workshop, seminar, or under the guidance of an instructor are not eligible for competition. Any eligible image may be entered with the exception of images that have previously placed or merited in any previous NAPCP Image Competition.
  3. If any entry submitted is a result of multiple images to create a final composite image, all images used must be the original work of the entrant. No purchased elements or stock images that are not of the entrant’s original creation (including skies, trees, buildings, or other objects) should be used by the entrant to create the final image (refer to #2 for additional details). All original image layers used for composite may be requested by NAPCP. Failure to submit all original images in a timely manner will result in immediate disqualification of the entrant’s submission. No refunds will be given.
  4. All entries must be unique compared to your other submissions. No two entries should resemble each other (with the same subject or scene, with a similar pose, location, lighting).
  5. Images must NOT include entrant’s name, logo, or signature.
  6. Images that violate copyright, trademark, or other applicable laws will be disqualified.
  7. Entrant must have a model release for any recognizable person in submitted entries and submit said release to NAPCP upon request.

What does unity mean to you? Is it the connection between a newborn and his mother? Is it joining together to fight a cause? Or is it a friendship with someone who has been intertwined in your life for many years and will be for many more to come?

The images featured in our Top 100 gallery will no doubt be a powerful collection of stories that will move us all.  We encourage our entrants dig deep to define and interpret what unity means to you. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out our inspiration gallery below
